About The Position

This position is for a Bilingual Teacher for grades 7-8 for the 2026-2027 school year at Cesar Batalla School. The role involves planning, organizing, and delivering instruction in both English and the students' native language, closely aligned with the regular curriculum. The teacher will focus on developing verbal and written skills in the native language, designing lessons that foster creativity and problem-solving through real-world applications, and establishing a positive classroom environment that encourages student self-discipline. The position also requires a commitment to ongoing professional development, addressing individual student differences, developing and evaluating assessments, monitoring student progress, and involving parents and the community in the educational process.

Requirements

Required certification: Bilingual (902)
Experience in the use of educational technology.
Excellent oral and written communication and human relations skills.

Nice To Haves

Master’s degree preferred.
Three years’ successful teaching experience in an urban setting preferred.

Responsibilities

Plan, organize, and provide instruction in English and in the native language of students.
Ensure instruction is closely related to and coordinated with the regular instruction program.
Plan, organize, and provide instruction in verbal and written skills of the native language.
Design lessons that foster creativity and communication skills in relation to authentic, real-world problems that provide opportunity for problem-solving.
Establish and maintain standards for behavior that foster student self-discipline and positive relationships among students.
Commit to on-going professional development in content area and pedagogy.
Plan learning activities to address individual differences among students.
Develop, administer, and evaluate quality formative and summative assessments that reflect a balance of content knowledge and problem-solving skills.
Monitor and evaluate students’ progress in relation to district/school curriculum policies and other planned goals and objectives.
Encourage, secure, and maintain the involvement of parents and other community members in support of instruction.
Involve parents in the assessment of their children’s progress and needs.
Perform other duties as assigned.
