Bilingual Store Driver (Spanish/English)
About The Position
The Bilingual Store Driver picks, stages, and safely delivers parts to professional customers; picks up returns and cores; and supports sales and customer relationships during deliveries. The role also includes collecting on credit accounts, distributing sales flyers, assisting with upselling and cross-selling, maintaining store cleanliness, stocking and cycle counts, and helping walk-in customers find appropriate parts or services. The employee may perform other duties as assigned. The position requires safe driving, effective communication, customer service and sales skills, and the ability to use delivery and inventory systems and store equipment. A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record are required. A high school diploma or equivalent is required; automotive parts experience is preferred. The work is usually indoors, with occasional outdoor work in varied weather. The role involves walking or standing, handling parts and equipment, and frequently lifting or moving up to 50 pounds; occasional lifting or moving up to 100 pounds is done with assistance. The position may involve exposure to moving mechanical parts, hazardous locations and materials, electrical shock risk, explosives, and vibration. The noise level is usually moderate.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Safe driving and navigation ability.
- Ability to use a delivery board system.
- Ability to locate and stock parts and follow safety practices.
- Ability to operate inventory systems and store equipment.
- Friendly, persuasive, and effective communication skills; ability to build relationships with customers, peers, and leadership.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic accurately, including calculations with whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to work an assortment of days, evenings, and weekends as needed.
- Confidence engaging customers and promoting products.
- Willingness to learn about new products and sales techniques.
- Physical ability to walk or stand predominantly; talk and hear; handle or feel; reach; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistance.
- Required vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Nice To Haves
- Automotive parts experience is preferred.
- Spanish language ability is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Pick, stage, and safely deliver parts to professional customers.
- Pick up returns and cores.
- Drop off weekly or monthly sales flyers and promote current sales and loyalty programs.
- Collect on credit accounts daily.
- Build and maintain relationships with MainStreet and National Pro customers and share delivery-related insights with the CPP.
- Assist with upselling and cross-selling products to increase average transaction value.
- Maintain store cleanliness, including floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, and the parking lot.
- Stock merchandise, including truck stocking and back stock, and perform cycle counts.
- Maintain knowledge of product inventory and new arrivals to assist with sales.
- Engage walk-in customers to understand their needs and recommend appropriate parts or services.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
