Requirements

Master’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or a related field.
Active Illinois Speech-Language Pathology license or eligibility for licensure.
Hold or be eligible to obtain an Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Speech-Language Pathology endorsement.
Successful completion of background screening.
Successful completion of drug screening.
Successful completion of professional reference checks.

Responsibilities

Provide speech and language services within an elementary school setting.
Work with students from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
Develop and implement individualized therapy and assessment strategies.
Address communication challenges and promote student participation in the academic environment.
Participate in eligibility meetings and IEP planning discussions.
Administer and interpret formal and informal assessment tools.
Support culturally and linguistically responsive assessment practices.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support student success.
Conduct speech and language evaluations for elementary students.
Prepare comprehensive evaluation reports and service recommendations.
Ensure documentation and evaluation timelines meet state and district requirements.
