About The Position

This role is for a Bilingual Senior Accountant, Cloud Accounting Services (Senior Bookkeeper) at Doane Grant Thornton. The position involves reconciling data from various 3rd party applications, managing bank and credit card statements in QuickBooks Online, reviewing sales data, processing accounts receivable/payable, reconciling vendor statements, processing payroll, running and filing tax reports (GST/HST/PST), preparing T4 returns, setting up client files, assisting with budgets, performing month-end/quarter-end/year-end close processes, performing basic financial analysis, preparing analytical reports and cash flow statements, participating in client discovery calls, collaborating with clients, and training junior colleagues.

Requirements

  • Ability to speak French is a requirement
  • A passion for technology and innovative thinking
  • Bookkeeping certification or equivalent
  • 2+ years’ experience in a similar role
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience working independently and as a team on engagements, monitoring tasks, and deadlines
  • Attention to Detail
  • Experience in Microsoft Excel

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with prepaids, amortization and intercompany transactions preferred
  • QuickBooks ProAdvisor certification is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Reconcile data from 3rd party applications such as Dext, Wagepoint, Plooto, etc.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements in QuickBooks Online
  • Reconcile and review sales data
  • Review accounts receivable/accounts payable and process using 3rd party applications
  • Reconcile Monthly Vendor Statements
  • Review payroll time entries and process payroll
  • Run GST/HST/PST reports, review audit trail and file reports with CRA
  • Prepare T4 returns
  • Set up client files, assist with the completion of budgets and complete administrative planning and other aspects of cloud Bookkeeping work
  • Perform/assist with month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes
  • Perform basic financial analysis
  • Prepare basic analytical reports and cash flow statements
  • Participate in client discovery calls
  • Collaborate with clients on a regular basis
  • Train and mentor junior colleagues
