About The Position

Being the Bilingual Program Assistant you will provide administrative support and record-keeping for the Housing Program. Perform intakes with clients new to the program. Travel to apartment locations to perform apartment inspections following grant guidelines. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • A minimum of one year experience in a providing clerical support, administrative, and/or data entry.
  • Intermediate experience in Microsoft Office specifically in Excel and Outlook
  • Must be able to fluently speak, write, and read both English and Spanish
  • You must have a valid Texas driver's license with a good driving record; reliable transportation; ability to travel to off-site locations utilizing personal transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform data entry functions of client services in a timely manner related to new and/or existing clients into required database.
  • Create and update information related to client data, statistics, grant budget, etc. via Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.
  • Process rental assistance applications received from clients of the housing program.
  • Perform the monthly check request process from request to completion for rental assistance for clients.
  • Provide accurate reports and correspondence by designated deadlines.
  • Maintain client files as required by funding sources of the housing program.
  • Assist clients of the housing program by providing housing referrals, and answering general questions in conjunction with the case managers and supervisor, utilizing crisis intervention skills when needed.
  • Travel to perform apartment inspections in accordance with HUD guidelines.
  • Timely and effective communication with apartment managers and housing program staff on lease status, clients’ compliance, etc.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
