The Bilingual Patient Financial Advocate is responsible for screening patients on-site at hospitals for eligibility assistance programs either bedside or in the ER. This includes providing information and reports to client contact(s), keeping them current on our progress. The role involves identifying self-pay patients, screening them for State, County, and/or Federal eligibility assistance programs, and initiating the application process. The advocate will introduce Firstsource services, provide updates on patient progress, and facilitate transitions to backend specialists. Responsibilities also include documenting screenings, identifying and reviewing outpatient/ER accounts, and potentially conducting patient home visits. Maintaining positive working relationships with hospital staff, reporting occurrences, accessing patient information, keeping logs, meeting goals, and maintaining confidentiality are also key aspects of the role.
