About The Position

Backpack Healthcare provides mental health care for children, teens, and young adults via telehealth. This role is for a Licensed Mental Health Therapist who is bilingual in English and Spanish, which is strongly preferred. The company is clinician-led, minority-owned, and growing rapidly, particularly in serving Spanish-speaking families who have historically had limited options for mental health care. The ideal candidate believes that culturally responsive care is essential. The position involves providing individual, family, and group therapy via telehealth, with a caseload of 15-36 sessions per week, allowing the clinician to choose between part-time or full-time employment. Most clinicians work weekday afternoons and evenings (2-9 PM), with weekend availability being a plus.

Requirements

  • Active Maryland license: LGPC, LCPC, LMSW, LMFT or LCSW-C
  • Experience with children, teens, and families
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote setting
  • Bilingual English/Spanish (strongly preferred)
  • Grounded in trauma-informed, culturally responsive practice

Responsibilities

  • Conduct intakes and build client-centered, trauma-informed treatment plans
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team (therapists, PMHNPs, and psychiatrists)
  • Maintain timely documentation in the EHR
  • Support families with education and care coordination
