Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- A minimum of one year experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinic, physician practice or urgent care setting
- Strong knowledge of medical correspondence, managing electronic medical records
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Team player, able to work with provider and other team members of the care team.
- Floating position (must be able to relocate/ cover when needed
Nice To Haves
- Certification as a Medical Assistant or diploma from an accredited school is highly preferred.
- Experience as a Phlebotomist is desirable but not required.
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred
Responsibilities
- Perform administrative and certain clinical duties under the direction of a physician.
- Schedule appointments and maintain medical records.
- Take and record vital signs and medical histories.
- Prepare patients for examination.
- Draw blood.
- Administer medications as directed by a physician.
- Take Patient Vital Signs
- Take Medical Histories
- Prepare Patients for Medical Tests and Examinations
- Assist Physicians During Examinations
- Explain Medical Procedures to Patients
- Sterilize Medical Instruments
- Remove Sutures
- Call or electronically enter Prescriptions into Pharmacies
- Prepare Patients for X-Rays
- Administer Topical, Oral, or Intramuscular Medications
- Transcribe all notes and documents related to treatments.
- Other duties as assigned
- Travel to clinics within the region as needed for business operation or staffing coverage requirements.
