About The Position

Lutheran Services Florida (LSF) is seeking a talented Bilingual Licensed Clinician to make an impact in the lives of children and families. This role offers a $3,000 sign-on bonus. The clinician will conduct mental health assessments and provide ongoing clinical services to Unaccompanied Children (UCs) referred to the Dream Center. Services will be provided on an intensive, short-term basis in collaboration with the case management team, requiring fluency with the policies of the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR).

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in social work with clinical experience in the program, or master’s degree in psychology, sociology, or other relevant behavioral science in which direct clinical experience is a program requirement.
  • Must be licensed or eligible for licensure.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of experience relevant to the position and working with vulnerable, immigrant or migrant populations.
  • Must have experience working in a residential facility.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with others, including case management staff, educational team members, and supervisors.
  • Ability to practice cultural sensitivity and work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Ability to be flexible with working hours and on-call responsibilities.
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Computer skills sufficient to perform essential functions (using the UC Portal, Microsoft Office, and any internal case management software).
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English Required.
  • Must demonstrate sensitivity to our service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics and needs.
  • Must be able to drive, have a valid Florida Driver’s License and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Must be able to work flexible and long hours.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct clinical intake assessment and provide ongoing clinical and crisis interventions for clients.
  • Screen UCs for human trafficking concerns.
  • Collaborate regularly with case management team to provide the clinical perspective in the assessment, service provision, and discharge of UCs within the ORR-mandated timeframes.
  • Conduct weekly individual counseling sessions and weekly group counseling sessions with UC clients.
  • Conduct sponsor assessments and provide clinical expertise in sponsor reunification cases.
  • Apply a working knowledge of child welfare best practices to protect all clients in care and mitigate risk factors where possible.
  • Maintain documentation of all clinical activities in accordance with ORR policy.
  • Maintain an updated, working knowledge of DHS and UC/ORR policy and operating procedures.
  • Meet regularly with supervisor to consult on cases, review case plan decisions, and evaluate client progress.
  • Provide translation support as needed for clients, sponsors, and staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
