Requirements

• Two years of technical investigative or construction and trades experience and an associate's degree in a field related to investigative or construction and trades work; or One year of technical investigative or construction and trades experience and a bachelor’s degree; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Fluently speak and write in Spanish.
• Possess and maintain federally compliant identification such as a U.S. Passport, REAL ID, or Military ID.
• Live in or be willing to move to the geographic region the Harrisburg District Office covers by date of hire.
• Demonstrate ability to adhere to the values and ethics of the Department of Labor & Industry.
• Demonstrate ability to work with professionalism, discretion, and good work ethic.
• Solid written and verbal communication skills.
• Show initiative and problem solving skill.
• Able to perform essential job functions.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in conducting investigations or working in construction and trades, business management, financial services, accounting, or conflict resolution
• An associate's degree or greater, in a field related to investigative work construction and trades, business management, financial services, accounting, or conflict resolution
• Experience enforcing labor standards or labor and employment laws
• Experience testifying at administrative or court hearings

Responsibilities

• Receive and evaluate complaints from workers and employers
• Review payroll documents, timecards, and related records for accuracy and compliance
• Speak with claimants, employers, and witnesses to gather detailed information
• Prepare reports, case summaries, and testimony for matters that may move to legal action
• Explain labor laws and requirements to employees, employers, and community groups
• Inspect workplaces and project locations to investigate possible violations
