About The Position

Shining Stars Montessori Academy Public Charter School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Montessori Bilingual Immersion Primary Guide (English/Spanish) to join our dynamic team for the 2026–2027 school year. The Montessori Bilingual Immersion Primary Guide leads a bilingual Montessori classroom for children ages 3–6, fostering language acquisition, biliteracy, cultural competence, and authentic Montessori learning experiences. Instruction is delivered primarily in Spanish while supporting joyful bilingual learning through Montessori methods, culturally responsive teaching, and language-rich interactions. The ideal candidate is passionate about bilingual education, Montessori philosophy, equity, and creating inclusive classroom communities that honor students’ identities, cultures, and languages.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Spanish, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred
  • AMS, AMI, or MACTE-accredited Montessori Primary Certification (Ages 3–6), or current enrollment in a MACTE-approved Montessori teacher education program
  • Native or fluent Spanish proficiency required
  • Experience teaching in bilingual, immersion, dual-language, or Montessori settings preferred
  • Strong understanding of early childhood language development, emergent literacy, and foundational mathematics instruction
  • Excellent classroom management, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse students, families, and staff
  • Commitment to culturally responsive and inclusive educational practices
  • Eligibility to work in the United States

  • Passion for supporting independent, confident, and intellectually curious children

Responsibilities

  • Deliver Montessori instruction primarily in Spanish across curriculum areas
  • Support language acquisition and biliteracy development through authentic immersion practices
  • Present individual and small-group lessons using Montessori methodology
  • Foster oral language development, vocabulary acquisition, communication skills, and emergent literacy
  • Differentiate instruction to support all learners, including multilingual learners and students with special needs
  • Integrate culturally responsive materials, literature, music, traditions, and experiences into classroom instruction
  • Conduct ongoing student observations, assessments, and progress monitoring in accordance with school and OSSE requirements
  • Foster independence, concentration, self-discipline, and Montessori principles of Grace and Courtesy
  • Prepare and maintain a safe, organized, language-rich bilingual Montessori classroom environment
  • Develop Montessori materials, lessons, and learning experiences responsive to students’ developmental needs and interests
  • Support students’ academic, social-emotional, and behavioral growth through individualized guidance
  • Maintain accurate student records, including attendance, observations, assessments, and progress reports
  • Ensure classroom, playground, and shared spaces meet health and safety expectations
  • Build positive and respectful relationships with multilingual families
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and classroom experiences
  • Collaborate closely with English-language teachers, specialists, and administrators
  • Participate in bilingual school events, family workshops, Open House, Saturday Academy, Field Day, and other community activities
  • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, instructional coaching, and Montessori reflective practice
  • Support and promote SSMA’s mission, vision, and educational philosophy
  • Engage in ongoing professional growth through conferences, workshops, and training opportunities
