Field Interviewers are responsible for frequently traveling to selected locations to recruit study participants and make in-person contact with selected respondents to discuss the study, answer questions, and obtain participation. They perform proper administration of computer-assisted interviews, collecting confidential information, and administering standardized questionnaires. The role also involves independently managing administrative duties, including participating in conference calls and completing online trainings, transmitting data, and submitting timely and accurate Time & Expense reports. Interviewers must assume full and legal responsibility for the use and care of project-issued equipment, safeguarding it and any participant incentives against damage, loss, or theft, and carefully tracking all incentives. They are expected to virtually attend scheduled meetings, approach selected households without prior appointment, work and drive after dark, attend weekly calls with their Field Supervisor, and adhere to a set schedule for respondent contact times. Additionally, they must provide availability for field observations and maintain required system updates to project equipment.
