Field Interviewers on the National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH) are responsible for traveling frequently to selected locations to recruit study participants and make in-person contact with selected respondents. They discuss the study, answer questions, and obtain participation. The role involves proper administration of computer-assisted interviews, collecting confidential information, and administering standardized questionnaires. Interviewers must independently manage administrative duties, including participating in conference calls, completing online trainings, and transmitting data. They are also responsible for the use and care of project-issued equipment, safeguarding participant incentives and project materials, and submitting timely and accurate Time & Expense reports. The position requires virtual attendance at scheduled meetings, approaching households without prior appointment, working and driving after dark, and adhering to a schedule set by a Field Supervisor.
