About The Position

Are you passionate about empowering families, building strong community connections, and helping children thrive? Children’s Friend is looking for a Bilingual Family Advocate to join our Early Head Start/Head Start team. This is more than a job—it’s an opportunity to make a lasting difference in the lives of children and families. As a Family Advocate, you’ll be a trusted partner for families—helping them access resources, build on their strengths, and create nurturing environments where children can grow and succeed. Your role will include: Supporting families with parenting education, health and nutrition guidance, and home management skills Leading home-based parent-child activities that encourage positive bonding Connecting families to community resources and services Promoting parent engagement through volunteering and program activities Partnering with parents to create Family Partnership Agreements that focus on their strengths and goals Helping ensure our services meet Head Start/Early Head Start performance standards Serving as a champion for families, advocating for their needs across home, school, and community

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Child Development, or a related field (Associate’s degree + relevant experience considered)
  • Experience working with at-risk families (preferred)
  • Strong relationship-building skills and a deep sense of empathy
  • The ability to view families through a lens of empowerment
  • Bilingual fluency strongly preferred.
  • A valid driver’s license, insurance, and reliable transportation
