About The Position

The Bilingual ESL Flex Co-Teacher role at IDEA Spears Academy is a full-time position designed to provide immediate support in classrooms by acting as an additional para-professional staff member. These individuals are hired with the intention of filling a permanent co-teaching role when a vacancy arises. This program ensures that students do not miss out on valuable instruction from a qualified co-teacher during vacancy periods. Flex Co-Teachers are assigned to a "home-campus" but may be assigned to temporary co-teaching roles at other campuses in the region. They participate in interviews for permanent co-teaching placements when vacancies occur. All IDEA co-teachers receive training in instructional strategies to deliver highly effective instruction and are responsible for student instruction under the guidance of an IDEA teacher. This position is grant-funded through Title III Part A, and while funding may be extended, there is no guarantee of ongoing employment. All duties must align with the grant's allowable activities.
