Bilingual (English/Spanish) Medical Staff Associate – RN or LPN or LVN or Paramedic or Advanced EMT
About The Position
Under general supervision, this role is responsible for evaluating donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures. The Medical Staff Associate provides limited emergency medical care to donors and staff, including administering medication or treatments in accordance with licensure or certification. This position involves interviewing donors and performing medical history reviews to gather necessary information for plasma donation suitability. The associate will also respond to medically related questions and provide information to staff on donor suitability, review test results to determine continued donor suitability, and assess donor symptoms that may affect their ability to continue donating. Additionally, the role includes notifying and counseling donors about reactive test results, referring them to community facilities for follow-up, and providing routine care according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Critical medical situations are escalated to the Center Physician or local medical service providers as required.
Requirements
- Graduation from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school or naturopathic medical training program
- If graduation is from a foreign allopathic or osteopathic medical school, must also currently be licensed as a physician or state certification as an emergency medical technician
- For NY: current state licensure or certification as an RN, MD or DO in the state you are applying for work or in a reciprocal state
- Minimum of one (1) year relevant experience in a health care environment
- Ability to make and analyze a physical assessment of heart, lung sounds, signs of drug use, etc.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in a plasma or whole blood collection center or other regulated environment preferred

- Referring donors to community facilities for follow-up and counseling
- Providing routine care following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Escalating critical medical situations to Center Physician or local medical service providers as required
