About The Position

The Bilingual Elementary Teacher will plan and implement elementary education instruction and assessment in both English and Spanish, aligned with School District learner outcomes and State achievement standards. This role requires adherence to the School District’s Elementary Education Mission and Goals, and the use of the approved elementary curriculum. The teacher will instruct students in Reading, Writing, Math, Science, Social Studies, and Personal Development, while maintaining a positive and adaptive learning environment that meets individual student needs and promotes learning. Additionally, the teacher will foster positive relationships with students, parents, staff, and the community, and engage in ongoing professional growth and contribute to the professional development of colleagues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, foreign language or similar field, or foreign equivalent degree
  • Ability to speak, read, and write Spanish fluently
  • Colorado Teaching License or ability to obtain

Responsibilities

  • Plan elementary education instruction and assessment aligned with School District learner outcomes and State achievement standards.
  • Demonstrate familiarity and adherence to the School District’s Elementary Education Mission and Goals.
  • Follow approved School District elementary curriculum.
  • Teach appropriate elementary grade level standards-based curriculum in Reading, Writing, Math, Science, Social Studies and Personal Development.
  • Supervise assigned students and maintain a positive learning environment in elementary classroom.
  • Adapt elementary level instruction to meet the individual learning needs of all students resulting in an increased probability of advancing their achievement.
  • Plan standards-based learning, including selection of content, instructional strategies, and assessments, appropriate for all learners and aligned with School District outcomes.
  • Promote and maintain student behavior expectations conducive to learning and maximizing learning time.
  • Establish and demonstrate positive human relations with students, parents, other staff members, and the community.
  • Maintain an ongoing program of professional growth that meets School District and school requirements and expectations and personal professional goals.
  • Contribute to the professional development of other teachers including but not limited to modeling the use and application of best practices, and peer support with lesson planning and designing consistent with state standards and School District goals.
  • Administer, score, interpret and apply required screening and assessment instruments.
  • Complete, maintain, and submit accurate records, forms and reports punctually, as required.
  • Work with diverse student population and staff.
  • Conduct required parent-teacher meetings.
  • Maintain positive inter-personal relationships with students, parents, staff, and community members.
