We are currently seeking a Bilingual Electrical and Automation Engineer to work with us on a Full-time/Permanent basis. As an expert in electrical engineering and automation, you will play a key role in the instrumentation and control of our pharmaceutical and laboratory washers. You will be at the heart of innovation, evaluating, conceptualizing, developing, testing, and documenting customized solutions for our clients, tailored to their needs, while also improving our existing products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, automation, or a related field.
  • Member of the OIQ (Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec).
  • 6 to 9 years of relevant experience in the design and implementation of electrical and automation systems.
  • Proficiency with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and industrial programming languages (Allen-Bradley and Siemens are assets).
  • Knowledge of CAD software and simulation tools (eplan and AutoCAD are assets).
  • Familiarity with electrical standards and safety regulations (UL, CSA, CE) is an asset.
  • Ability to work in a team to solve complex problems.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong client communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain high standards of quality and accuracy.
  • Excellent proficiency in French and English.

Nice To Haves

  • Allen-Bradley and Siemens are assets.
  • ePlan and AutoCAD are assets.
  • Familiarity with electrical standards and safety regulations (UL, CSA, CE) is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and program software for programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and operator interfaces (HMIs) from Siemens and Allen-Bradley, while supporting our clients in integrating their SCADA systems.
  • Work with electromechanical interfaces and high-power components such as heating elements and pumps.
  • Create electrical schematics for control panels that meet client requirements, while ensuring compliance with electrical and machine safety standards in North America and Europe.
  • Conduct simulations and rigorous testing to validate system performance.
  • Assess client needs and the performance of existing systems, propose innovative solutions, and estimate costs and timelines.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical challenges related to our systems.
  • Prepare operator and maintenance manuals, technical reports, and design quotations.
  • Stay up to date with technological advancements and market trends to deliver cutting-edge solutions.
  • Work closely with engineers from various disciplines, as well as with our clients, to ensure seamless system integration.
  • Collaborate with several internal stakeholders, including procurement, production, and marketing teams.
