About The Position

JOB DETAILS : Support, monitor and assist the EHS Manager and Plant team on identifying and controlling safety hazards Support and enforce EHS policies as well as applicable regulatory standards Participate in the incident investigation process Keep records of environmental, health & safety-related workplace incidents and propose corrective actions. Interact with Cornerstone EHS Origami software. Develop and train associates on environmental, health & safety requirements to ensure compliance with plant EHS policies as well as applicable Federal and State environmental, health & safety regulations Identify safety hazards and prepare reports of findings with recommendations for corrective actions utilizing a 5 why process (Horizontal Root Cause Analysis) Coordinate or assist with required annual occupational health exams (ex.: hearing tests) disbursement of PPE including managing the safety footwear and prescription eyewear programs) Investigate and determine root cause of incidents to identify preventative safety measures for incorporation into the safety program Conduct trend analysis, audits, incident investigations and site inspections of operational procedures Perform periodic visual storm water assessments and assist the EHS Manager with reporting and training if the facility has a storm water permit and storm water pollution prevention plan Coordinate with responsible facility personnel to consistently maintain adequate safety supplies & equipment, including inventory, disbursement, ordering, expiration dates, etc. Render First Aid care to associates as needed Work closely with management and associates in promoting a safety awareness and hazard prevention culture Perform new hire orientation, Walk and Talks and annual safety training. Conduct and update Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) hazard assessments of all Production positions Conduct and evaluate job safety analysis on an annual basis including alternative protective measures, including training Intervene in unsafe activities or operations by STOP work

Requirements

  • Safety Degree preferred or other college course and/or safety certifications
  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent communication and advisory skills.
  • Knowledge of general occupational environmental, health and safety aspects of manufacturing/industrial work settings.
  • Current CPR/AED/First Aid certification or be able to obtain within 6 months of employment
