About The Position

Following routine protocols and procedures under the supervision of the Manager of Environmental Health and Safety Department, performs environmental compliance inspections, data entry, safety supply inventory and ordering, and other administrative tasks.

Requirements

• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
• Requires good oral and written communication skills. Ability to interact with various individuals in different settings.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of AQMD, storm water, hazardous waste/material regulations, and OSHA regulations.
• Laboratory and industrial safety experience.
• B.S. degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or Engineering.
• Three (3) to Five (5) years of experience in environmental health and safety field.
• Basic chemistry knowledge and familiarity with lab equipment.
• DOT (Department of Transportation) and/or HAZWOPER certifications.

Responsibilities

• Collect and enter data for environmental compliance reports and other department recordkeeping.
• Conduct facility inspections/audits for various regulatory compliance requirements and maintain records.
• Lab work to include wastewater analysis.
• Select and order safety supplies and coordinate safety trainings.
• Maintain MSDS Online database.
