What You’ll Do: • Assist dentists with a variety of dental procedures and patient care activities • Prepare patients and treatment rooms for dental procedures • Take and adjust periapical and panoramic X-rays as requested by the provider • Take and record vital signs and assist with patient charting in the electronic dental record (EDR) • Sterilize and maintain dental instruments and equipment according to infection control guidelines • Properly clean, disinfect, and restock treatment rooms and supplies • Pour and trim dental casts and assist with lab cases • Send and receive lab cases and conduct referral follow-ups • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly equipment maintenance and sterilization logs • Conduct daily spore tests and maintain sterilization records • Monitor supplies and report equipment malfunctions to supervisors • Prepare and submit daily dental clinic reports • Communicate with supervisors and dental access specialists regarding referrals, appointments, and scheduling needs • Follow infection control policies and properly dispose of biohazard waste • Complete required training and perform other duties as assigned What We’re Looking For: • High school diploma or equivalent • Completion of a dental assisting program • Current Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license from the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners • Experience with digital radiography techniques • Must be fluent in both English and Spanish to effectively communicate with patients and support clinical operations • Working knowledge of dental terminology, instrumentation, sterilization procedures, radiology techniques, chairside assisting, and dental materials • CPR certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire • Strong communication, customer service, and computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office • Ability to work evenings and weekends if needed • Must comply with GCHD immunization policy and ICS training requirements • Must pass a pre-employment physical/fitness for duty examination, criminal background check, and drug/alcohol screening Preferred Qualifications: • Clinical patient treatment experience (externship or similar) • 1+ years of experience as a dental assistant • Experience with electronic dental records or NextGen QSI software Equivalent education and experience may be considered. Requirements
