We are looking for a Bilingual Community Outreach and Marketing Coordinator who is passionate about grassroots engagement and making a difference in the Houston community. This role is perfect for individuals with backgrounds in social work, nonprofit organizations, social activism, or community outreach who are eager to apply their skills in advocacy, outreach, and marketing. You will be responsible for building strong relationships with community stakeholders, supporting outreach efforts, and developing engaging content for our marketing strategies. We're looking for someone who thrives in community-based settings, loves connecting people with resources, and has a passion for mental health advocacy.

Requirements

  • Experience in community advocacy, social work, nonprofit management, or similar fields with a focus on connecting people to resources and facilitating outreach.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with community leaders and stakeholders to foster collaboration.
  • Experience in organizing community events and managing outreach efforts with a grassroots approach.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of creating compelling outreach and marketing content.
  • Proficient in social media management, with the ability to create engaging content and track performance metrics (preferred but not required).
  • Experience in managing administrative tasks such as data entry, tracking, reporting, and scheduling.
  • Ability to multi-task across various responsibilities, ensuring deadlines are met in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • A bachelor's degree in Social Work, Nonprofit Management, Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Candidates with a background in case management, social work, outreach, advocacy, or community-based roles where you connected individuals to services are highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in using social media platforms, Google Workspace, and tools like MailChimp.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is highly preferred.
  • Must live in Houston, Texas, and have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead grassroots outreach initiatives, including regular community tabling, flyering, and direct neighborhood engagement.
  • Act as the primary Event Coordinator for Family Solutions in Texas for local events, managing logistics from setup to teardown.
  • Prepare for stakeholder proposal meetings and support the execution of community outreach events.
  • Maintain a highly visible presence in the community by planning and participating in local events such as school open houses, health fairs, cultural festivals, and more.
  • Act as a community advocate by connecting individuals with mental health resources and supporting collaborative efforts.
  • Ability to lead event coordination efforts for the agency including but not limited to monthly, quarterly, and/or annual client and stakeholder events to represent the organization dynamically.
  • Build collaborative relationships with the Outreach Team, Stakeholders, and Community Leaders to facilitate synergy, creativity, and effectiveness.
  • Participate in team brainstorming sessions, conducting research, and identifying community trends.
  • Assist in creative ideation and sourcing, while supporting content creation and writing.
  • Create monthly newsletters for stakeholders and internal teams.
  • Conduct data entry, tracking, and reporting on the performance of outreach initiatives.
  • Organize and maintain marketing databases, ensuring all company information, referral database and materials are up to date.
  • Prepare for stakeholder proposal meetings and support the execution of community outreach events.
  • Help maintain a visible presence in the community, engaging in local events such as health fairs and advocacy rallies.
  • Act as a community advocate by connecting individuals with mental health resources and supporting collaborative efforts.
