About The Position

The Division of Pediatric Cardiac Surgery within the Pediatric Heart Institute at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Clinical Research Coordinator to join our team. In this critical role, you will contribute to advancing pediatric cardiac care by supporting all phases of clinical research projects. As a Clinical Research Coordinator, you will be responsible for a wide range of research and operational activities, including: Preparing, completing, and maintaining regulatory documents. Conducting both quantitative and qualitative data collection. Managing and analyzing research data. Preparing reports, presentations, and other project deliverables. Your initial focus will be on coordinating a qualitative study, which is part of a larger, primarily NIH-funded, multi-state research initiative. This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with experienced medical researchers and contribute to impactful work that improves outcomes for children with congenital heart disease.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required (Master’s Degree preferred).
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience; familiarity with qualitative research and/or congenital heart disease research is a plus.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English required.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates research projects and performs tasks related to the execution and operations of research projects.
  • Uses skills in quantitative and qualitative research methods to contribute to the design, coordination, and conduct of research projects.
  • Fosters collaboration between team members, both internal and external to the department.
  • Data management and analysis.
  • Qualitative coding and thematic analysis.
  • Sets up REDCap databases, conducts online surveys, in-depth interviews and focus groups, and performs data entry.
  • Coordinates development of datasets, data cleaning, data validation, and data reporting.
  • Summarizes and interprets complex analyses.
  • Prepares materials and drafts sections of presentation and written documents.
  • Creates charts, graphs, and tables to summarize analysis results.
  • Contributes to peer-reviewed scientific manuscripts.
  • Communicates and models values and mission of VU/VUMC.
  • Establishes, supports, and promotes ownership of team goals. Works as a team to accomplish common goals. Willingly accepts responsibility and performs expected and unexpected tasks. Willingly exerts extra effort when necessary to get the job done.
