About The Position

The Bilingual Certified Clinical Medical Assistant plays an essential role in delivering high-quality patient care and ensuring smooth clinic operations. Proficiency in English and Spanish is essential to this role, enabling effective communication and enhancing patient comfort during visits. This position supports healthcare providers in managing patient flow, assisting with clinical procedures, maintaining accurate medical records, and educating patients about their health and treatment plans. Your efforts will directly contribute to a positive patient experience and overall team efficiency.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
  • 1–2 years in a professional medical environment
  • Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited agency (required)
  • CPR Certification (renewed every two years)
  • Proficiency in EMR systems, internet software, and 10-key data entry
  • Familiarity with Point of Care Testing (POCT) equipment
  • Proficiency in English and Spanish

Responsibilities

  • Prepare treatment rooms and place instruments and equipment appropriately.
  • Clean, sterilize, and maintain medical instruments.
  • Collect specimens (including phlebotomy) and administer specific medications/immunizations under provider direction.
  • Inventory and order medical supplies.
  • Assist providers proactively with patient care and clinical procedures.
  • Support patient flow by rooming patients, obtaining and documenting vital information, and scheduling appointments.
  • Conduct patient interviews, measure vital signs, and record data in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Educate patients on treatment plans and ensure they feel informed and empowered.
  • Assist with patient-related calls, including communicating test results as directed.
  • Participate in team huddles, quality improvement initiatives, and training sessions to enhance care coordination.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, OSHA, CLIA, and HRSA guidelines.
