About The Position

Provide assistance in the classroom as directed by the teacher(s) for pre-kindergarten programs. This role involves adhering to federal, state, and local policies, participating in professional growth activities, and assisting with the instructional program and student records. The Bilingual Aide will also help prepare and maintain instructional materials, support teacher-planned activities, and work with individuals and small groups of students to reinforce skills. Flexibility and the ability to maintain positive working relationships are essential.

Requirements

Proficient in Spanish, both written and oral
High school diploma or GED required
48 college hours required or a score of 464 on the ParaPro test (for Title I campus)
Ability to work with students and teachers
Ability to manage a flexible schedule
Strong organizational skills
Ability to work within deadlines
Paraprofessional aide certificate required once employed

Nice To Haves

School office experience or volunteer experience preferred

Responsibilities

Adhere to federal, state, and local policies and procedures related to pre-kindergarten programs.
Participate in planned in-services and professional growth activities.
Assist in carrying out the instructional program.
Assist in maintaining student records and audit folders.
Assist in preparation, use, and maintenance of instructional materials and equipment.
Assist with teacher-planned activities, exercises, and drills.
Assist in the teaching/learning process of working with individuals and small groups of students to reinforce skills as directed by the teacher.
Attend professional meetings as required.
Assist in administering and scoring objective assessment instruments.
Maintain flexibility in the performance of required duties.
Place district goals above personal goals.
Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with others.
Supervise individual and small group activities as directed by the teacher.
