About The Position

We are seeking a dynamic and engaging Bilingual After School STEM Teacher fluent in both Spanish and English to lead our STEAM program for Pre K-5th grade students in Washington, DC. This role involves facilitating hands-on learning experiences that foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics.

Requirements

Fluency in both Spanish and English (written and spoken).
Experience working with children in a formal or informal educational setting.
Knowledge of STEM/STEAM concepts and curriculum development.
Ability to manage a classroom of young children.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Must be able to pass a background check.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience teaching after-school programs.
Experience with curriculum development for early childhood or elementary grades.
Bachelor's degree in Education, STEM field, or related area.

Responsibilities

Teach STEM concepts to Pre K-5th grade students in an after-school setting.
Deliver instruction in both Spanish and English.
Facilitate hands-on activities and projects related to Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM).
Manage classroom behavior and ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Adapt curriculum and teaching methods to meet the needs of diverse learners.
Communicate effectively with students, parents, and program coordinators.
Prepare materials and set up the classroom for daily activities.
Participate in program meetings and professional development sessions as required.
