About The Position

Scheels is seeking a Part-Time Bike Shop Technician to accurately diagnose, maintain, and assemble customer and store equipment, including bicycles and other sporting goods. This role involves ordering repair parts, safely filling CO2 and compressed air tanks, maintaining detailed records, and assisting with equipment delivery and loading. The technician must be able to read and interpret technical documents and be flexible with their work schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

  • Must possess a clean, valid driver’s license.
  • Willing to obtain DOT certification and meet Scheels driving standards.
  • Mechanical knowledge is preferred.
  • Candidate must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Very heavy work - Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for heavy work.
  • Associates are expected to follow all safety procedures and perform their job duties in a fashion that minimizes the risk of injury.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately diagnose and provide maintenance and assembly of customer and store equipment (bicycles, exercise machines, snowboards, skis, hockey skates and sticks, baseball gloves and bats, golf clubs, racquet sports, archery arrows, paintball markers, and other merchandise).
  • Order and follow up with vendors for repair parts.
  • Safely fill CO2 and compressed air tanks for paintball markers.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records for store and customer equipment.
  • Assist with delivering and loading customer equipment and merchandise at the store and to customer residences.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
  • Be flexible to work assigned schedules between 9 am and 9 pm, Monday through Saturday, and 11 am and 6 pm on Sunday. Schedule may include varied hours, days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
