About The Position

Woodward PA, a world-class action sports destination and camp, is seeking part-time EMT / Medical Staff for their fall event season. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in sports injury prevention, basic illness medical treatments, and emergency medical care. This role involves working closely with visiting professional athletes to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all campers. The position offers a unique opportunity for networking and hands-on experience in a fun, innovative environment.

Requirements

  • 1+ Years as a: Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, Certified or Registered Medical Assistant, or EMT.
  • Active Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Licensure / Compact State (Multi-State Licensure).
  • 1+ years of experience working with kids and/or teens.
  • CPR Certification.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite.
  • Comfortable presenting and deploying new technologies.
  • Demonstrate broad technical knowledge of management techniques.
  • Proven ability to collaborate well across functions and departments, to work as part of a team.
  • Provide work-related references upon request.
  • Successful completion of all pre-hire background checks (criminal history, child abuse, Motor Vehicle Record if required, FBI fingerprinting).

Nice To Haves

  • Must have or be able to obtain Mandated Reporter Training Certificate prior to starting work.
  • Must have or be able to obtain Safesport Training Certificate prior to starting work.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day care for illnesses, injuries, and medical emergencies on camp facilities for campers, staff, guests, and visiting professional athletes.
  • Maintain knowledge of current and proposed standards of practice and PA state guidelines for healthcare professionals.
  • Ensure adherence to HIPAA standards.
  • Collaborate with the Nursing Station, Athletic Training Room, and Transportation Department to provide optimal care.
  • Provide comprehensive medical care to all individuals on camp property.
  • Attend and participate in staff training, including behavior management and emergency evacuation procedures.
  • Maintain records on campers, staff, and guests using internal platforms.
  • Recognize changes in patients' conditions and respond appropriately.
  • Oversee the medicine administration process.
  • Support athletic trainers and EMTs in assessing injured individuals.
  • Contribute to the organization and administration of the Nurses Station.
  • Schedule and follow-up on evaluation and check-in appointments.
  • Act as a liaison between parents, coaches, program staff, and athletes regarding medical care.
  • Maintain Woodward's safety logs, operational sheets, and incident logs.
  • Train and develop students to ensure health and safety standards are met.
  • Provide oversight to students.
  • Maintain a positive learning environment for clinical education.
  • Attend weekly meetings to discuss current issues and safety lists.
  • Provide on-call overnight coverage on a rotational basis.
  • Take daily inventory of supplies and operational needs.
  • Communicate maintenance needs for the medical facility.
  • Attend camper orientation to provide health and safety education.
  • Facilitate safety and wellness across the entire camp.
  • Support storytelling, social, and content ideas for medical, health, and safety.
  • Other duties as assigned.
