Junior Bike Mechanic / Brooklyn, NY
About The Position
This role is designed for candidates who already have practical experience repairing or maintaining bikes, whether through personal projects, freelance work, or informal experience - but may not yet have professional shop experience. You’ll work alongside experienced mechanics, receive hands-on training, and learn how to maintain and repair our fleet of e-bikes used by delivery riders across New York City. Successful trainees who complete the probation period will have the opportunity to transition into a full Bike Mechanic role with increased compensation and additional benefits.
Requirements
- Hands-on experience repairing or maintaining bicycles
- Interest in developing a long-term career as a bike mechanic
- Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lift heavy objects
- Availability on weekdays and weekends
Nice To Haves
- Experience with e-bikes is a plus, but not required
Responsibilities
- Assist with assembling and preparing new e-bikes in our workshop
- Learn how to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical bike issues
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on our fleet
- Support senior mechanics with day-to-day workshop operations
- Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining quality standards
- Follow safety procedures and workshop guidelines
