About The Position

Scheels is seeking a part-time associate for their Bike & Bike Accessories Sales department. As an employee-owner, you will be expected to contribute to a culture that values delivering a personalized customer experience, a team-first mentality, continuous learning, taking pride in work, and maintaining honesty and integrity. The role involves greeting customers, providing exceptional sales service, meeting sales goals, maintaining visual merchandising standards, processing freight, restocking inventory, demonstrating product usage, and assisting with training new associates. Proficiency with personal computers and handheld inventory scanners is required, along with knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Email/Docs, and AS400.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 1-3 months of sales experience
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to navigate a personal computer and a handheld inventory computer/scanner. Programs include: Microsoft Office, Google Email / Docs, and AS400
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

  • Greet all customers on the sales floor with genuine courtesy and a smile, to ensure they feel welcomed the moment they enter your shop
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by seeking out and engaging with customers, going through the steps of the sale to determine their needs, recommending appropriate products, and promoting the Scheels Visa Credit Card
  • Grow personal sales by consistently hitting set goals and following Scheels' professional salesmanship standards and the steps of the sale to provide an above-and-beyond customer experience
  • Create a positive end-user experience based on the products the customer is purchasing
  • Maintain a high standard of visual merchandising and support the team with freight processing and inventory restocking
  • Ability to demonstrate product usage within their shop and retrieve product from heights of greater than 6 ft
  • Attend all required Scheels product training and all store meetings
  • Assist in the training of new associates in the areas of the store's expertise
  • Ability to navigate a personal computer and a handheld inventory computer/scanner. Programs include: Microsoft Office, Google Email / Docs, and AS400
  • Assist in all other assigned duties by the leadership team
