The Big Ticket Order Picker Operator (Cherry Picker, High Bay, or Order Selector) is responsible for timely and accurate picking and put-away of furniture and bedding into warehouse bin locations using radio frequency (RF) equipment. The role uses powered order-picking equipment that raises operators up to 30 feet. Operators need effective time management, attention to detail, awareness, caution, and communication skills. Accuracy and productivity are monitored against company and departmental KPIs, and colleagues are encouraged to identify improvements. The work takes place in a warehouse environment that may include loud noises from forklifts and conveyors. Macy’s Distribution Center teams help ensure products reach stores and customers on time and in good condition. This position handles material and stock movement, stages merchandise for loading, and uses RF technology to pick and put away furniture and bedding. The operator must safely use an order picker while wearing fall protection and complete required training. The role also includes warehouse cleanup, inspecting merchandise and labels, reporting damage or equipment issues, following safety procedures, and meeting scheduled work and performance goals. The position requires prolonged standing and walking, work at heights up to 30 feet, and repeatedly lifting and moving furniture and bedding weighing up to 250 pounds. The operator must be able to work for long periods, including up to eight or more hours. A flexible schedule may include day, evening, weekend, and holiday hours. Supply chain colleagues may be subject to random drug testing, except where governed by a collective bargaining agreement.
