In the Senior Technologist job role, the Big Data Architect evaluates project requirements and use cases, designs technology frameworks and reusable assets, and delivers high-quality, production-ready code across applications, databases, and integrations. The role includes designing patterns and reference implementations, conducting design reviews, optimizing code, debugging complex routines, and building code generators and pilot implementations.

The position works with other teams to align on project goals and technology implementations, provides technical guidance to peers, and supports complex projects by resolving technical challenges and reducing risk. It also involves evaluating emerging technologies, independently developing proofs of concept, contributing to high-risk multi-technology deployments, implementing technical services that meet quality-of-service requirements and business and IT KPIs, and supporting test automation and test strategies.

The role calls for expertise in scalable architectures and frameworks, reusable components, quality-focused delivery, mentoring, and adopting emerging technologies. The successful candidate will help improve performance, meet service benchmarks, anticipate risks, and deliver resilient solutions.

Requirements

• Experience developing applications with Scala, Python, Spark, or Hadoop.
• Experience implementing projects end to end using Cloudera Hadoop, Spark, Hive, HBase, Sqoop, Kafka, Elasticsearch, Grafana, and the ELK stack.
• Experience in AI-powered intelligent data integration and transformation, and expertise in AI-powered data lakes.
• Proven experience architecting and administering Snowflake, Azure, and Google Big Data platforms.
• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, data integration, and analytics workflows.
• Experience categorizing, cataloging, cleansing, and normalizing datasets.
• Hands-on experience with platform monitoring, automation, and DevOps tools.
• Experience managing hybrid on-premises and cloud environments.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance frameworks.
• Technical ability to build bespoke AI agents and multi-agent systems using Python and frameworks such as LangGraph and LangChain for real-world business needs.
• Ability to build AI-assisted workflows for classification, enrichment, response generation, and decision support, and to implement structured outputs, prompt pipelines, and reliability safeguards.
• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent from an accredited institution, or three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of each year of education.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate project requirements and use cases and deliver high-quality designs, frameworks, and production-ready code work products.
• Design technology frameworks for complex scenarios, develop design patterns and reference implementations, create reusable assets, and conduct design reviews.
• Deliver high-quality code across applications, databases, and integrations.
• Optimize code, debug complex routines, and develop code generators and pilot implementations for reusable components, ensuring production-ready code.
• Work with other teams to align on project goals and technology implementations.
• Provide technical guidance to peers and help maintain delivery consistency and code quality.
• Identify proof-of-concept opportunities and independently develop PoCs for emerging technologies and complex modules.
• Provide input for high-risk, multi-technology and multi-language deployments.
• Evaluate and implement technical services to meet quality-of-service requirements and align with business and IT KPIs.
• Create reusable assets and deliver defect-free code to meet quality benchmarks and Zero-Defect Delivery goals.
• Support complex projects by resolving technical challenges and reducing risk exposure.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to inform decisions and improve project outcomes.
• Support test automation and execute test strategies to drive quality improvements.
• Mentor peers and foster technical excellence across projects.
• Build scalable architectures and frameworks, and translate emerging technologies into PoCs and deployment-ready solutions.
