About The Position

The Bicycle Program Manager position at Tahoe Donner offers a unique opportunity to combine a passion for cycling, outdoor recreation, and community engagement in one of the most scenic mountain environments in the country. This position is responsible for the planning, organizing and direction of the operations of BikeWorks and coordinating bicycle-related programs.

Requirements

  • Must have advanced mountain bike riding ability and mechanical knowledge.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must demonstrate strong management and leadership skills.
  • Requires valid class C Driver License with a driving record meeting minimum standards required by the Association insurance.
  • These skills and abilities are typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent and five years related experience and/or training managing or supervising a bicycle rental, retail or park program; or an equivalent combination of formal training, education and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform all of the duties of the position.

Nice To Haves

  • Current International Mountain Biking Association (IMBA) membership recommended.
  • Professional Mountain Bike Instructor Association (PMBIA) Level 3 certification or higher is desired.
  • Current cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid certifications recommended.

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service to members, guests, public and employees.
  • Ensures all staff meet or exceed the highest level of guest service in the performance of their duties.
  • Manage BikeWorks day-to-day operations, including purchasing supplies and managing expenses.
  • Implement efficiencies to streamline daily operations.
  • Coordinate with the Communications Department to develop appropriate marketing strategies and plans to enhance participation for BikeWorks; participate in the publishing and distribution of informational and promotional literature and web sites.
  • Interview and hire staff in the HRIS system, submitting required paperwork to HR in a timely manner.
  • Orient, train, direct, motivate, evaluate and discipline all assigned staff and oversee work schedules in accordance with Association policies.
  • Maintain current knowledge of mountain biking trends including technical and equipment trends by participating in other local, regional and/or national association meetings and seminars.
  • Participate in the development and administration of the operation’s budgets; direct the forecast of additional funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials and supplies; monitor and approve expenditures.
  • Ensures compliance with all safety regulations and ensure a clean and safe working environment with active participation in the health and safety program.
  • Implement and evaluate effectiveness of established safety procedures and policies designed to reduce work related accidents and general liability exposure.
  • Responsible for the daily cash receipts and accounting for safekeeping of the same according to established written policy and procedures; certify and categorize and upload according to Association procedures all invoices for payment.
  • Respond timely to inquiries and/or complaints regarding service or conditions for BikeWorks.
  • Perform related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
