About The Position

As a BI ETL Test Engineer, you will be responsible for testing and validating BI systems, including business data flows, ETL components, data lineage, and ETL architecture. You will define testing strategies, recommend tools, and perform technical feasibility and risk assessments while analyzing defects during data validation. The role requires hands-on ETL testing experience with Informatica and data mapping. You will collaborate closely with QA engineers, client teams, and other vendor teams to ensure data quality and successful delivery.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience in ETL and Data Warehouse (DWH) testing across complex data environments.
  • Strong expertise in Informatica PowerCenter (PC) and Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS) testing.
  • Execute test cases with accurate data validation in alignment with defined project requirements.
  • Solid experience with Informatica mappings and SSIS packages, including writing complex SQL queries to validate transformations and outputs.
  • Working knowledge of Data Hub for defect and ticket handling, with exposure to ALM tools.
  • Quick learner with the ability to analyze and understand applications, products, and systems efficiently.
  • Collaborate with QA engineers, client teams, and other vendor teams to build effective test strategies and plans.
  • Strong analytical, logical thinking, and gap analysis skills, with experience in post-release and post-implementation testing.

Responsibilities

  • Perform ETL and DWH testing with strong hands-on expertise in Informatica PowerCenter (PC) and Informatica Intelligent Cloud Services (IICS).
  • Identify and analyze data sources, data flows, and business requirements for ETL processes.
  • Define test cases, test scenarios, and test plans for databases and project requirements.
  • Validate data accuracy, completeness, and consistency by executing test cases as per project needs.
  • Work with Informatica mappings and SSIS packages, ensuring correct data transformations.
  • Write and execute complex SQL queries to validate required outputs and data reconciliation.
  • Manage defects and tickets using Data Hub, including tracking and resolution support.
  • Collaborate with QA engineers, client teams, and cross-vendor teams to ensure quality across STLC and SDLC, including post-release and post-implementation testing.
