BI Developer/Business Analyst
About The Position
Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a talented BI Developer/Business Analyst for a full-time, experienced role supporting the Federal Government. This position requires a Public Trust (MBI) security clearance level. Military Veterans are highly encouraged to apply. The role involves designing and building Power BI dashboards, supporting data integration, facilitating user requirements, assisting with User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and developing training materials and documentation. The ideal candidate will participate in planning and designing Power BI reporting solutions, ensuring they are scalable, performant, secure, and meet stakeholder requirements. This is a 12-month contract supporting a federal government agency, contingent upon contract award. Travel will be required to Arlington, VA and Paris, France, necessitating a current U.S. passport.
Requirements
- Five (5) or more years of experience in Power BI development and/or business analysis
- Five (5) or more years of experience with Power BI dashboard design
- Five (5) or more years of experience with translating business needs into reporting solutions
- Five (5) or more years of experience with supporting user training and documentation
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Must possess or qualify for a Public Trust (MBI) security clearance
- Must possess a current U.S. passport

Responsibilities
- Designs and builds Power BI dashboards, supports data integration, facilitates user requirements, supports User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and develops training materials and documentation
- Participate in planning and designing sessions of Power BI reporting solutions, ensuring they are scalable, performant, secure, and meet stakeholder reporting requirements
- Design and implement Power BI data strategies and models that support complex reporting and analytics and ensure optimal performance and scalability
- Monitor and optimize the performance of Power BI reports and dashboards to ensure they are running efficiently and effectively, minimizing load times, and enhancing user experience
- Collaborate with business analysts, database administrators, and other stakeholders to understand business requirements and deliver Power BI solutions that meet expectations
- Develop test plans and conduct through testing of Power BI reports and dashboards
- Document software defects and resolve and re-test to ensure the highest level of quality and reliability
- Draft training materials and documentation as required and provide training and support to end users on the use of developed software products
- Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups, ensuring timely delivery of Power BI development tasks
