This is a part-time, non-exempt position located in Helena. The BHGH Peer Support Specialist works as part of a multi-disciplinary team to assist clients in developing personal recovery plans and identifying opportunities for support as they work towards their recovery goals. The focus of this role is exclusively on clients residing in the Behavioral Health Group Home (BHGH). A key requirement is that the individual must self-identify as a person in recovery from mental health and/or substance abuse issues. The specialist will listen to and encourage clients, manage a caseload of all BHGH clients, and promote client self-determination. This role involves coaching and supporting clients in developing skills for community integration, advocating for clients working on recovery and life skills, and interacting with referral contacts within the community. The specialist will also link clients to resources identified in their wellness recovery plans, model competency in recovery and ongoing wellness, and act as a liaison with the treatment team to develop effective client support systems. Responsibilities include monitoring and supporting clients through regular interactions and peer support, reporting concerns, and documenting progress notes, incidents, and calls to the multidisciplinary team. The role requires assuming responsibility for assigned workload, working independently and cooperatively, and maintaining necessary records, reports, and statistics in accordance with Many Rivers policies. The position also requires passing the Behavioral Health Peer Support Specialist (BHPSS) certification within one month of employment, participating in initial and ongoing peer support training, and meeting clinical supervision requirements.
