About The Position

Apache Casino Hotel is seeking a Part-Time Beverage Server to join their team in Lawton, OK. The ideal candidate will portray a positive attitude, understand and represent the core values of Apache Casino Hotel, and live the mission of always providing exceptional service. This role involves serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to guests in the lounge and casino areas, handling cash transactions, and maintaining the appearance of assigned station and service areas. The position requires an upbeat and outgoing demeanor, a neat and well-groomed appearance, and effective communication with team members, regulatory personnel, and guests. Regular attendance is required, and team members may need to work varying schedules, including weekends and holidays, to meet business needs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Six months prior beverage server experience including work with point-of-sale systems, liquor dispensing systems, and cash control policies, practices, and protocols.
  • Ability to obtain an Oklahoma ABLE license.
  • Strong customer service, oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions from written, oral or schedule form
  • Ability to adapt to changing processes and procedures based on new technologies and changing procedures
  • Competency to follow detailed procedures and ensure accuracy in documentation and data; carefully monitor processes; concentrate on routine work details
  • Capability to remain open-minded and change opinion based on new information; perform a wide variety of tasks and change focus quickly as demands change; manage transitions effectively from task to task; adapt to varying guest and team member needs
  • Use tact, maintain confidences, and foster an ethical work environment, handling situations honestly
  • Ability to adapt behavior to others’ styles, interact with people who have different values, culture, or backgrounds, be of service to difficult people, optimize the benefits of having a diverse workforce
  • Share due credit with team members; display enthusiasm and promote a friendly group working environment; work closely with other departments as necessary; support group decisions and solicit opinions from coworkers
  • Pass a background check and drug-screening test
  • Obtain a gaming license and an Oklahoma ABLE permit.

Nice To Haves

  • Regular attendance is required.
  • Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality/casino industry, team members may be required to work varying schedules to meet the business needs of Apache Casino Hotel. We are busiest during weekends and holidays, events, and peak seasons as they occur. There is a reasonable expectation you will be scheduled on duty and/or “on-call” during any of these times.

  • Handle various forms of cash transactions
  • Ensure appearance of assigned station and service areas is maintained
  • Demonstrate an upbeat and outgoing demeanor while on duty
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance (specific standards may apply departmentally based on uniform requirements). Where uniforms are required, they must be clean and pressed at the beginning of each shift
  • Effectively communicate with team members, regulatory agency personnel and guests, resolving guest service issues in accordance with authority
  • Perform other related duties as may be assigned
  • Understand and comply with the Eye, Hi, Goodbye program.
