About The Position

The Beverage Server is responsible for providing beverage service to all guests in an efficient, courteous, and professional manner, displaying a high standard of guest service. This position operates under general supervision and relies on limited experience, instructions, pre-established guidelines, and good judgment to perform job functions. The role involves supporting and upholding the Valley View Casino & Hotel’s Standards of Excellence, Mission, and Vision Statements. Key responsibilities include maintaining positive guest relations, resolving complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction, and greeting guests with personalized service. The server must provide prompt, efficient, and courteous beverage service, ensuring accuracy in beverage orders and change. This includes taking and filling beverage orders, assisting in maintaining a clean gaming area, and continually monitoring guest needs to promptly fulfill beverage requests. The role also requires maintaining assigned areas for cleanliness, assisting other beverage personnel with side work and opening/closing duties, and possessing a working knowledge of company facilities and special events. A critical aspect of the job is protecting the establishment by adhering to alcohol beverage control policies, providing responsible alcohol service, and monitoring guest alcohol consumption, reporting signs of intoxication to management. Team members must comply with the Tipped Rate Determination Agreement (Gaming Industry) as approved by the IRS. Other duties may be assigned by management, and all responsibilities must be conducted in a professional and ethical manner with consistent attendance. Performance will be evaluated based on task performance and commitment to the Standards of Excellence.

  • Must use good judgment when providing information to our guests and maintain positive guest relations at all times.

  • Must apply for, receive, and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Agency.
  • Must be able to successfully pass applicable auditions or skill testing and a drug screening test.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • One year of beverage service experience.
  • Previous experience in gaming environment.
  • Ability to understand oral and verbal communication while using Valley View Casino & Hotel’s communication tools which include but are not limited to radios, cell phones and or email.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times, resolving guest complaints and ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Greet guests in a courteous and caring manner using personalized service.
  • Provide prompt, efficient, and courteous beverage service to guests in accordance with company policies, procedures and standards.
  • Ensure accuracy of purchased beverages and provide accurate change.
  • Perform necessary tasks to service guests, including taking and filling all beverage orders.
  • Assist in maintaining guests' gaming area in a clean and neat manner.
  • Monitor guests' needs on a continual basis ensuring all beverage requests will be promptly fulfilled.
  • Maintain assigned area for cleanliness.
  • Assist other beverage personnel with maintenance (side work, opening/closing duties) as necessary.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of company facilities, as well as special events on property, in order to advise guests and fellow Team Members.
  • Protect Valley View Casino & Hotel by adhering to alcohol beverage control policies by providing responsible alcohol service and monitoring guest’s alcohol consumption.
  • Inform the Food and Beverage Managers when a guest demonstrates signs of intoxication.
  • Comply with the Tipped Rate Determination Agreement (Gaming Industry) as approved by the IRS.
  • Conduct all responsibilities in a professional and ethical manner.
  • Maintain a consistent, regular attendance record.
