About The Position

Pine State Beverage, a leading beverage distribution company in Maine and NH, is seeking a capable individual to join their talented and dedicated workforce. The On-Premise Business Development Rep plays an active role in executing channel initiatives, splitting time between field sales and working with sales representatives and key accounts. This position leverages local market knowledge and beverage industry experience to drive sales and profitability. The territory covers Southern Maine, extending to Lewiston/Auburn and the Mid-Coast area.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of beer and non-alcoholic trade, sales & strategic marketing in the beverage industry.
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proven decision-making and problem-solving skills along with presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of computer applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point and Teams
  • Flexibility to work extended hours as needed, including late nights and weekends.
  • Time management skills and the ability to work independently and willingness to work with others on team
  • Valid state driver’s license and safe driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Identify opportunities to increase sales, profitability, efficiency, and service levels
  • Work with sales reps through work with schedules to drive sales on priority brands within all categories
  • Understand lead brands (Red Bull and Maine Craft Beer) key performance indicators (KPIs) for territory and appropriately manage and assist with the execution of these monthly KPI’s
  • Call on potential new business partners and recruit non-buying accounts daily with sales presentations
  • Uphold the integrity of all Non-alcoholic and Pine State execution programs with customers in the market
  • Responsible for deliveries of coolers and other POS as needed
  • Work collaboratively across the organization and share best practices. Act as a major contributor for the team
  • Communicate regularly with managers, customers, sales force, et. al. to stay current on market-wide business trends and developments.
  • Complete and submit all administrative paperwork, i.e. work with recaps, sample requests, incentive tracking sheets, etc. on or before deadline
  • Communicate to customers new items, product information and competitive market information
  • Maintain positive professional relationships with owners and buying personnel at key accounts
  • Work with District Managers and Sales Reps on a regular basis to assist in selling
  • Cover sales routes on an as-needed basis. Transmit and verify daily orders in accordance with established procedures.
