About The Position

Watkins Distributing is a family-owned and operated beverage distribution company that has serviced Idaho and Montana for four generations. The Sales Assistant covers sales routes when Sales Representatives are out on vacations or other absences. When not covering routes, the Sales Assistant completes store resets, merchandises accounts, and works special events. This is a full-time position with a flexible schedule that changes based on business needs, including early morning reset shifts and afternoon/evening event shifts.

Requirements

Valid driver's license and clean driving record with no major violations.
Must be able to lift, move, and merchandise cases ranging from 20 – 30 lbs. regularly.
Tasks include bending, squatting, reaching, and standing for extended periods.
Work independently across multiple retail locations, traveling between accounts throughout the day.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in beverage sales, merchandising, resets, or delivery preferred.

Strong communication and customer service skills, including comfort interacting with the public at events.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

Provide route relief for Sales Representatives during vacations and other absences, ensuring continuity of sales, merchandising, and customer service.
Complete store resets as directed, including resetting shelves, cooler doors, and displays to planograms and company standards.
Merchandise products to company standards, including stocking shelves, rotating product, and building displays.
Set up, staff, and tear down special events, representing the company and its brands in a professional manner.
Maintain product inventory levels while covering routes by monitoring accounts, placing orders, and communicating with store contacts.
Assist with deliveries when needed, including unloading, checking in product, and ensuring accurate delivery.
Support sales initiatives by executing pricing changes, promotions, and point-of-sale materials as directed.
Maintain positive relationships with customers by providing reliable service and resolving basic sales or service issues.
Stay knowledgeable on company products, pricing, and market conditions.
Communicate route activity, reset progress, event results, and issues to sales management.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
