About The Position

As a Beverage Research & Development Intern, you will be part of our Early Talent Program, which is Molson Coors’ undergraduate summer internship program. This program exposes students to the beverage industry, engages them in real-world problem-solving, and immerses them in social and educational opportunities with other interns. The internship is a full-time summer position. Interns who successfully complete the Early Talent Program are considered for full-time positions within Molson Coors Beverage Company upon graduation. Housing assistance is available to candidates who meet eligibility requirements. Applicants must be an undergraduate student (enrolled in undergraduate courses) during the summer internship to participate in the Early Talent Program.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Food Science, Flavor Chemist, Fermentation Science, or Sensory Science.
  • Demonstrated self-motivation and personal leadership.
  • Interpersonal collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work with data and information.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to assimilate technical data to support recommendations.
  • Basic problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with structured problem tools is useful but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the R&D Innovation Development Team on evaluating different types of powder ingredients for NPD applications.
  • Learn about the physical and chemical properties of ingredients and find the optimal stability, usage, and cost.
  • Spend most of your time working with current/new recipes and ingredient suppliers.
  • Support the Development Team and NPD on the exploration of new ingredients and their application in alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
  • Establish requirements: application, processing, stability, usage, storage conditions, and cost.
  • Investigate, validate, and summarize different ingredient trends with associated specifications and applications for North America.
  • Work with the pilot team to understand processes on both systems and share details with the development team.
  • Engage with identified suppliers to gain insight into new ingredients capabilities and associated quality parameters.
  • Include process benchmarking & reapplication across processes, potential review/document ingredient storage/usage of new ingredients in North America.
