About The Position

Responsible for ensuring a consistent flow of services to guests by assisting cocktail servers and bartenders with their job functions. Ensures that dirty ashtrays and used glassware are removed from bar tops, bar area and floors are clean. Clears and wipes down tables in any lounge area absent of a cocktail server. Maintains a clean work environment in accordance with Health Department standards. Checks glass washers for proper chemicals. Maintains soap and hand towels at hand sink areas. Maintains par stock levels by placing orders for all bar supplies. Receives and delivers products to appropriate outlet and stocks in accordance to specification. Stocks and re-stocks bars throughout shift with all bar supplies, bar glasses and ice as required. Stocks server wells in accordance to specifications with all products and supplies required. Cuts fruit to specification and prepares all condiment caddies. Collects trash from all outlets throughout shift, as well as, wiping down walls behind trash containers. Distribute clean bar towels and collect soiled ones and discard them in the appropriate place. Collect all excess glasses from bars and restock them in their appropriate outlet in accordance to specification, along with retrieving bar glasses from dish areas. Organize and clean pump rooms, coolers and storage areas to specification. Sweep and mop pump room, coolers and storage area floors. Soak and clean soda bag-in-box hoses and nozzles. Replace and rotate draught beer kegs, liquor and soda bag-in-boxes as required. When assisting bartender with orders, make eye contact, offer a greeting and end the interaction in a courteous way, delivering ACES at all times. Use guest name during interaction and remember their preferences. Promptly and professionally prepare beverages to specification with speed and accuracy. Promptly and professionally handle guest issues and communicate problems and concerns to management. Requires evidence of age from any guest who appear to be under the age of thirty (30). Continuously monitor bar to ensure that all guests are receiving beverage service in a timely manner. Provides guest with property information, promotions, programs and attractions. Maintain a professional and neat appearance at all times. Display a courteous and friendly attitude to all team members and guests. Assist co-workers as needed. Complete all duties as assigned, acts a role model always presenting oneself as a credit to HCCTR and encourage others to do the same. Adheres to all department and company policies and procedures, regulatory state and federal laws Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and Company standards and programs, as well as delivering ACES Customer Service to every guest. Maintains professional grooming and appearance and acts as a role model according to established grooming and appearance policy. Demonstrate and exhibit characteristics and behavior in accordance with Property Core Values Maintains valid WV racing license, Food Handlers permit and TIPS certifications.

Requirements

  • Applicant must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age to apply.
  • Possess a High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must be licensed by the West Virginia Racing Commission.
  • Must be able to obtain proper Food Handler Certification.
  • Must be Tips and TOPs certified.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
  • The employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell.
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance.
