About The Position

This sensitive role involves providing bereavement follow-up counseling to families who have experienced a loss. The Bereavement Counselor will coordinate support groups and memorial services for survivors of Hospice patients, and supervise volunteers who provide support to survivors. The position also involves assisting Volunteer Services with hospice volunteer training.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years paid professional experience dealing with human behavior, family therapy, crisis intervention, or related assistance program required.
  • Baccalaureate degree in Health or Social Services required.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and automobile insurance required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with perinatal bereavement preferred.
  • Previous home care or hospice experience preferred.
  • Prior experience working with volunteers preferred.
  • Master’s degree in Social Work preferred.
  • Current license to practice Social Work in Pennsylvania, or eligible for immediate Pennsylvania licensure, preferred.
