About The Position

Benefits administration and monitoring of benefit programs as directed by the Benefits Director. Process benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations. Assist employees with benefits related issues and questions in a timely, courteous, and professional manner. Manage all files and records in accordance with internal policies, federal confidentiality standards, and employee confidentiality applicable laws. Perform regular audits of benefits data to ensure accuracy and compliance. Provide positive business relationships and act as liaison between internal and external partners to ensure proper coverage, claim services, and payments. Correspond with and distribute enrollment materials to benefit eligible employees. Facilitate training classes to all eligible employees to educate employees on benefit package. Process supplemental requests as requested by benefit vendors. Maintain and update all enrollment and informational materials as needed. Generate reports as requested by Benefits Director. Implementation of open enrollment- including, but not limited to, review of open enrollment materials and roll out of open enrollment on Benefit Administration system. At the direction of either the Benefits Director or Benefits Analyst, administer ACA guided/applicable benefits. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Possess High School Diploma or GED
  • Must maintain an extremely high level of confidentiality
  • Must have strong computer skills, including use of Word, Power Point, Excel and other databases; must maintain electronic file systems
  • Must be able to demonstrate good communication skills
  • Must be very organized and have ability to assign tasks for timely completion
  • Must be able to carry out projects with minimal instruction
  • Must be able to make sound work decisions in accordance with rules, regulations and departmental policies and procedures
  • Must establish and maintain effective work relationships with other employees and the public
  • Must possess a valid California drivers’ license and comply with the requirements of the Tribe’s driving policy and insurance requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Some college preferred
  • Prior work experience in benefits administration preferred
