About The Position

This is a senior-level position within the Corporate Employee Benefits department. Responsibilities include developing strong relationships with internal and external business partners and mentoring and coaching team members to efficiently manage benefit plans and related projects. Provides subject matter expertise on administration, compliance, vendor management, reporting, employee communication, and education for the department.

Requirements

  • 4-6 years of significant knowledge in benefit practices, including laws and regulations as warranted by specific area needs.
  • Knowledge and experience with outsourced benefits administration.
  • 4-6 years of experience in a large, complex business organization.
  • Must be able to review and interpret plan documents and contracts.
  • Must have experience with employee self-service systems and managing benefit vendors.
  • Knowledge of appropriate state and federal regulations, such as ERISA, ACA, CAA, CMS, etc. required as warranted by specific department needs. (High proficiency)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Management and/or operational experience preferred.
  • Professional written, verbal, and interpersonal skills in order to effectively communicate policies and procedures to all levels of staff and management preferred. (High proficiency)
  • Professional analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word preferred. (High proficiency)
  • Advanced understanding of federal and state legislation regarding human resource management programs and practices preferred. (High proficiency)

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the development and administration of the Club's group benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, and ancillary benefits.
  • Manages the annual enrollment process.
  • Responsible for compliance with company policy and IRS, DOL, ERISA, and other government regulations.
  • Responsible for the management of outside vendors and payment processing, reconciling, and auditing.
  • Responds to questions, problems, or exceptions to benefit policies and procedures.
  • Analyzes situations and recommends appropriate action.
  • Prepares policy and procedures manuals, materials describing benefits programs, and other related internal publications.
  • Responsible for legally required filings.
  • Develops presentation materials for an executive audience.
  • Presents new policies, procedures, and ideas at various meetings.
  • Interfaces with employees, managers, vendors, medical personnel, and attorneys.
  • Responsibilities include analyzing, designing, and administering ACE's employee benefits policies, systems, and practices.
  • Assists with claims administration, audits, report preparation, and compilation of statistics.
  • May assume a leadership role within the department, which may include leading special projects, coaching, mentoring, and handling management responsibilities as needed.
  • May provide strategic consulting services to business partners up to and including the executive level.
  • Consistently provides a high level of customer service through the IVR and People Service Center (PSC) portal, as demonstrated by response rates and effective problem resolution.
  • Researches and provides recommendations on policies and programs that are consistent with the goals and strategies of the company and comply with federal and state guidelines.
  • Monitors changes and trends in human resources and proposes strategies to address their impact.
  • Participates in meetings and prepares meeting agendas and materials.
  • Consults with outside organizations to determine the most appropriate plan(s) for the organization.
  • Manages and interacts with external vendors, including benefits providers, third-party administrators, and consultants.
  • Participates in case discussion meetings and/or problem resolution.
