About The Position

Baker Donelson has an immediate opening for a Benefits Coordinator. T he Benefits Coordinator provides day‑to‑day administration and operational support for all employee benefit programs. This role serves as a primary point of contact for employee benefit questions and issues, maintains positive relationships with employees across the Firm, and observes strict confidentiality in all employee matters. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefit questions and issues, including those escalated beyond information available on the Firm intranet, vendor websites, or plan documents. Own day‑to‑day benefits administration, including new hire enrollments, terminations, life events, and status changes in UKG and applicable vendor systems. Resolve file error reports between internal HRIS systems and benefit vendors. Review and approve life events in UKG. Review and resolve benefit payroll deduction discrepancies in coordination with Payroll. Coordinate and fulfill employee requests for proof of coverage and benefit verification. Assist with planning, preparation, and execution of annual open enrollment, including employee communications, system readiness, and enrollment support. Assist auditors with the annual 401(k) audit and send 401(k) auto‑escalation reminders and other routine plan communications. Coordinate logistics for Benefits, BakerWell, Health Insurance, and 401(k) Committee meetings, including scheduling, agenda distribution, meeting minutes, and follow‑up tracking. Maintain and update benefit orientation materials, including Q&A presentations for weekly benefit orientation calls. Maintain and update all benefit guides and e‑learning materials to ensure accuracy and currency. Monitor and update benefits and wellness content on BakerHub. Prepare standard reports, survey outputs, and data summaries for review by the Benefits Manager. Physical presence in the office is an essential function of this role. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to manage multiple priorities using skills typically acquired through a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a closely related field. Strong working knowledge of benefits administration practices and applicable laws. UKG and BenefitsHub experience preferred. Strong attention to detail with the ability to execute transactional work accurately and on time. Ability to identify issues arising during benefits administration and escalate appropriately. Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with a diverse employee population. Ability to work under pressure during peak periods such as open enrollment. Working Conditions Role occasionally requires a high level of mental effort and focus when managing multiple projects and requests. Work may occasionally require irregular hours and/or more than 40 hours per week to perform essential functions. Some travel is required. Normal office environment with minimal exposure to excessive noise, dust, or extreme temperatures.
