Requirements PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Benefits & Compliance Training Coordinator is responsible for developing, coordinating, and delivering employee training programs related to benefit offerings, regulatory compliance, and workplace policies. This role ensures employees and leaders understand benefit programs, compliance requirements, and organizational policies while supporting ongoing regulatory adherence and risk mitigation. The ideal candidate combines strong knowledge of employee benefits and HR compliance with instructional design, communication, and training facilitation skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Education, or related field (preferred).
  • 2-4 years of experience in training coordination, compliance, HR operations, or related role.
  • Working knowledge of employee benefits programs and HR compliance requirements (federal, state, and/or local).
  • Experience with a Learning Management System (LMS) strongly preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and high accuracy in documentation.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and HR systems.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Understanding of regulatory training requirements (industry-specific).
  • Experience creating e learning content or instructional materials.
  • Familiarity with ADA, FMLA, ACA, COBRA, ERISA, and state specific compliance requirements.
  • Occasional travel or after hours training sessions may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver employee training related to health and welfare benefits, retirement plans, leave programs, and wellness initiatives.
  • Coordinate benefits onboarding sessions, annual open enrollment training, and targeted education for employees and managers.
  • Create and maintain benefits-related training materials, presentations, job aids, and learning resources.
  • Partner with HR, and vendors to ensure training content is accurate, current, and employee friendly.
  • Coordinate mandatory compliance training programs, including but not limited to: Harassment prevention Workplace safety Ethics and code of conduct Leave and accommodation compliance
  • Track training completion and maintain compliance records and reports.
  • Support audits, regulatory reviews, and internal compliance assessments as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of employee training completion in the LMS and other tracking systems.
  • Monitor compliance deadlines and follow up with employees and managers to ensure timely completion.
  • Audit training records for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with regulatory standards.
  • Prepare compliance summaries, dashboards, and reports for leadership review.
  • Ensure training programs meet federal, state, and industry-specific regulations (e.g., OSHA, DOT, HIPAA, SOX, etc., depending on the organization).
  • Partner with HR and Legal teams to update training requirements based on policy changes.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by providing documentation and demonstrating adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Schedule mandatory and optional training sessions across departments.
  • Liaise with vendors, facilitators, and subject-matter experts to coordinate courses and certifications.
  • Manage enrollment, attendance tracking, and post training evaluations.
  • Support onboarding training processes for new hires.
  • Respond to employee and manager inquiries related to benefits education and compliance training.
  • Support change management initiatives related to benefits or compliance program updates.
  • Identify gaps in compliance training and recommend process or system enhancements.
  • Assist in developing SOPs related to training administration and documentation.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of the learning management system and training workflows.
  • Administer leave programs including FMLA, CFRA, ADA, PDL, parental, medical, and state paid leave
  • Review requests, determine eligibility, and designate concurrent leaves accurately
  • Maintain leave records and case documentation in HRIS and leave management systems
  • Issue required notices and ensure compliance with all regulatory timeframes
  • Support employees and managers throughout the leave and return to work process
  • Coordinate with payroll, benefits, and third party vendors
  • Track return to work dates, medical releases, and accommodations
  • Generate basic leave reports and support process improvements
  • Serve as a point of contact for training-related questions.
  • Communicate training requirements, deadlines, and updates clearly and proactively.
  • Provide support to employees navigating the LMS or training portals.
  • May be required to perform tasks beyond those explicitly listed in this role.
