About The Position

We're looking for a Benefits & HR Operations Specialist to own the operational core of HR: our benefits programs, our compliance practices, and the systems that hold it all together. You'll be the go-to resource for employees navigating their benefits, the person who keeps us ahead of changing regulations, and the owner of the HR tools and data that help leadership make smart decisions. If you enjoy the mix of people, process, and problem-solving, this role has a lot of room for you to make your mark.

Requirements

1-3 years of experience in HR, with hands-on exposure to benefits administration, HR compliance, or HRIS
A sharp eye for detail and a strong sense of organization; you catch the things others miss
Comfort with data: you can pull reports and spot trends
Solid proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
The judgment to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine interest in helping people
The ability to manage competing priorities, adapt quickly, and work well across departments

Nice To Haves

Experience with HR technology (HRIS, benefit platforms, LMS and performance tools)
Experience in construction or another project-based industry

Responsibilities

Lead our annual open enrollment, from planning and vendor coordination through employee communication and follow-through
Be the trusted first stop for employees with benefits questions, helping them understand and get the most from their coverage
Support leave programs, including FMLA, parental leave, and disability, and guide employees through what can be stressful life events
Manage relationships with benefits vendors and carriers, holding partners accountable for service and accuracy
Benchmark our programs against the market and recommend improvements that keep our offerings competitive
Process benefit changes throughout the year and support required annual filings and program reporting
Partner with Accounting on the administration of our 401(k) plan
Keep Cahill's employment practices aligned with federal, state, and local laws, and flag changes before they become issues
Own required postings and regulatory coordination across all the cities and states where we operate
Maintain and update our HR policies and employee handbook
Track compliance training and coordinate sessions as needs arise
Conduct I-9 audits and handle employment verifications
Own our HR technology stack: Viewpoint (HRIS/payroll), Lattice (performance management), and Cypher (learning management)
Keep data accurate and systems running smoothly
Document and maintain HR's standard operating procedures so our processes are consistent
