Determines initial and ongoing IV-E eligibility and reimbursable used to assist in the federal reimbursement process as allowed by Title IV-E of the Social Security Act. Requirements

Associate's Degree
0-2 years of progressive work experience (typically in Benefits and Eligibility)
Computer literacy and ability to use word processing and table/mathematical software.
Knowledge of and ability to communicate and interact with individuals in a culturally appropriate manner.
Mathematical knowledge and ability to make basic and/or algebraic calculations with accuracy.
Knowledge of and skill in clear, concise, and grammatically correct verbal and written communication.
Ability to analyze and apply correct policy and procedure to diverse case and client circumstances to ensure flawless reviews and submissions.

Responsibilities

Maintains information used by DFS State Financial and Social Services Divisions used to prepare Federal reports for IV-E reimbursement.
Engages in team consultation regarding eligibility determinations and updates to State and Federal laws.
Maintains a caseload of approximately 100 cases.
Participates in training as needed to keep up to date on current State and Federal IV-E laws.
Receives and interprets IV-E documentation from DFS programs to determine related to children in foster care, subsidized guardianship, and subsidized adoption.
Interpretation of documentation includes but is not limited to information related to income and parental deprivation, initial and ongoing judicial determinations, and foster care background checks and certification.
Prepares for and participates in internal and federal audits to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements, Quality Assurance, and Continuous Quality Improvement.
