About The Position

This position is responsible for administering benefits & compensation programs and policies in support of the Cooperative’s strategic initiatives.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment regulations
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service
  • Skilled in project management
  • Skilled in prioritizing and managing changing priorities
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to listen and understand information verbally and in writing
  • Ability to anticipate, identify, analyze and resolve conflict and problems
  • Bachelor’s Degree, in Human Resources preferred
  • Four years of related experience
  • Valid Driver’s License

  • Directly related experience may substitute for education
  • CBP, CCP, GBA, RPA, CEBS, or PHR preferred

Responsibilities

  • Communicate compensation and benefit programs, policies, and initiatives by developing presentations, maintaining intranet content, conducting meetings, preparing announcements and responding to inquiries
  • Conduct day-to-day support and administration of health & welfare benefit programs, 401(k) plan and Defined Benefit Plan
  • Coordinate logistics of benefit, wellness, and finical program actives, i.e., scheduling, employee events, compliance training, open enrollment, employee communications, and policy training
  • Manage the Cooperative’s rewards and recognition program
  • Administer the Leave Management Program and return to work process
  • Assist employees with retirement process and serve as contact for retirees
  • Make recommendations for improvement to employee benefit and compensation administration and programs taking into consideration regulatory requirements, competitive advantage, employee acceptance, employee interests and cost
  • Recommend benefit programs by benchmarking best practices, researching industry standards, employment trends, tracking legislation, and reporting anticipated business impact
  • Ensure retirement plans meet ERISA regulations and comply with organizational standards and budgetary restrictions
  • Identify, evaluate, implement, and promote various wellness programs and challenges to encourage healthy lifestyles
  • Source and leverage network vendors and community partners to provide benefits and wellness programs to the employee population
  • Complete monthly benefits plan funding, billing, benefits accounting, and reconciliation
  • Maintain benefits and compensation policies, procedures, and related documents to ensure regulatory compliance and adherence to current best practices
  • Analyze employee benefit data and trends
  • Maintain positive relationships with department vendors and other business partners
  • Maintain the security of confidential information
  • Stay abreast of advances in technology
  • Demonstrate regular and prompt attendance
  • Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned
